Thanks to the generosity of the Petco Foundation, we are able to provide special medical treatment for our heartworm-positive dogs.  The treatment we administer helps to cure heartworms so that our pets can be adopted and live a healthy, happy life.

What are Heartworms?

Heartworms are contracted through a mosquito bite.  The worms that pass from the mosquito to the dog settle in the heart.  Over time, the condition can be debilitating, and even cause death.  The good news is, with proper treatment, heartworms can be cured.

A monthly, oral preventative is the best way to keep your pet safe from developing heartworms.
